1. PASTIS
Gothersgade 52, 1304 Copenhagen
 
Pastis is open every day of the week, both for lunch and dinner. It is a well-visited restaurant, so remember to book your table in advance. It is classic French cuisine and the atmosphere is the same. On the evening menu, you will find tartare, snails, oysters and steak and for lunch you can enjoy a croque madame. We guarantee that you can satisfy your craving for the French cuisine here. They have a large covered outdoor seating area where you can choose to enjoy the French atmosphere.

2. JE T'AIME
Dybbølsgade 9, 1721 Copenhagen

Je t'aime is open Monday to Saturday from 12 to 00. That's easy to remember. For lunch you can have omelette and croque madame - perhaps as a late breakfast. If you prefer a more classic lunch, you will also find moules marinieres, beef tartare and steak frites on the lunch menu. In the evening you will also find the last 3 dishes accompanied by other delicious French delicacies. Get a menu for DKK 465. In the summertime, they have outdoor seating where you can follow the buzy street to and from Dybbølsbro.

3. LES TROIS COCHONS
Værnedamsvej 10, 1619 Copenhagen V

From locals drinking a glass of wine at the cozy tables on the pavement of Værnedamsvej, to the beautiful checkered floor and the arch-French menu inside - Les Trois Cochons is like visiting Paris for a while. On the plate you will find good French ingredients and specialties combined with the kitchen's flair for classic craftsmanship. They are open every day of the week, on weekdays they open already at 8, and Saturday-Sunday at 9. If you're on the move early, start your day here.

4. LE LAC
Classensgade 11A, 2100 Copenhagen Ø

At Le Lac, they cherish the traditional French cuisine and its preparation methods, but do so in a modern and Nordic context. They are open Tuesday to Sunday for both lunch and dinner. The menu changes regularly, so take a look at their website or Instagram for more information - you're guaranteed to find something you like. They have the option of a la carte or a 3-course set menu for DKK 450.

5. MÊLÉE
Martensens Allé 16, 1828 Frederiksberg C

Mêlée is located on a small side street to Gammel Kongevej and is part of Frederiksberg's local Latin quarter. They serve bistro food with edge and personality based on a French model, where it is natural to eat three or four simple, well-prepared dishes of the season's best ingredients, in order to have a complete dining experience. Let yourself be tempted by their 4-course menu and/or the board dishes of the day as well as the ongoing Mêlée dishes; tartar, onglet & Comté! They are only open in the evening, Monday to Saturday from 17.30-23.45.

6. SALON 39
Vodroffsvej 39, 1900 Frederiksberg C

Salon 39 is located on a quiet corner in Frederiksberg, 2 minutes from the lakes. It is both a cocktail bar and a French brasserie, where you will find classics such as oysters, moules frites, beef tartare and steak. The atmosphere oozes cocktail bar and is an obvious place to start your evening if you want to continue into the night. On Friday and Saturday they are open until 2.00, so you have plenty of opportunity to enjoy a cocktail or two. They only serve food in the evening, opening days are Tuesday to Saturday from 16.00.

7. BISTRO BOHEME
Esplanaden 8, 1263 Copenhagen

Bistro Boheme is perhaps Copenhagen's most recognized French restaurant. And it is for a reason. Here you will find absolutely sublime dishes and surroundings to match. They are open Monday to Saturday from 11.30 to 01.00. You will find classic French dishes and we would recommend that you do not leave without having tasted their fried oysters. Possibly the best in town. When the weather is right, you can enjoy your food outdoors on the Esplanade.

8. RAVAGE
Kongens Nytorv 16, 1050 Copenhagen

At Ravage, you can enjoy your food with a view of Kongens Nytorv and The Royal Danish Theater and D'Angleterre. Besides the good location, they also make really good French dishes at Ravage. We highly recommend trying their beef tartare, which you get served not stirred, but with the offer to have it stirred at the table. It tastes heavenly. They are open every day of the week from 9.00. On Friday and Saturday, they don't close until 2.00, so you can end the dinner with drinks before the tour may continue into the city. They have a nice outdoor area with seating under heat lamps.

9. LE SAINT JACQUES
Sankt Jakobs Pl. 1, 2100 Copenhagen

On Sankt Jakobs Plads lies this french pearl, where you, among other things, can get foie gras, stirred beef tartare and boeuf béarnaise. We have tried the tartare, which is served with a tartare sauce and it tastes wonderful.Try it. They are open every day of the week for both lunch and dinner. On Sundays they invite you to a Sunday dinner from 17-22, where you can get 3 courses for DKK 325. There is outdoor seating facing the square.

10. L'EDUCATION NATIONALE
Larsbjørnsstræde 12, 1454 Copenhagen

This inner-city classic is open every day of the week from 11.30 to 00.00 (at 17.00 change from lunch to evening card) - continuous service! It is a small, cozy restaurant where the tables are close together, but the the acoustic is good and so is the atmosphere. The menu consists of a wide selection of the best French classics.

11. PROMENADEN
Frederiksberg Allé 58, 1820 Frederiksberg

Promenaden is a classic gem from 1932, located in the middle of Frederiksberg Allé with white tablecloths on the tables inside and a large outdoor seating area facing Frederiksberg Allé. It is a mixed classic Danish and French cuisine. For lunch you will find Danish smørrebrød but also croque madame, chevre chaud, tartar and moules frites. In the evening, it is only a selection of classic French dishes. Open all days of the week for both lunch and dinner, though only for lunch on Sundays.

12. MAISON
Dronningens Tværgade 43, 1302 Copenhagen

At Maison, they have decorated their restaurant with extravagant marble, beautiful deep colors on the walls, wine cellar, decorative mirrors and classic French wicker chairs, that leads your thoughts to the oldest and most elegant bistros of Paris. Their menu is adapted to the season and catch of the day, but you will always be able to find bistro classics such as oysters and steak au poivre on the menu. They are only open in the evening, Monday to Saturday from 17.30.

13. à TERRE
Tordenskjoldsgade 11, 1055 Copenhagen

On the street behind The Royal Danish Theater you will find à Terre, a gourmet restaurant serving classic French gastronomy of high quality. They are only open for dinner on Wednesday to Saturday, on Saturday it is also possible to come for lunch though. They don't have a la carte, but a selected menu for DKK 1,400. It costs DKK 2,200 including wine, water, coffee and sweets. A slightly smaller menu is available on weekdays and for lunch on Saturday for DKK 800.

14. SILBERBAUERS BISTRO
Jægersborggade 40, 2200 Copenhagen

Silberbauers Bistro is a French bistro located in the heart of Nørrebro, but with their French hearts in Provence. There are red checkered tablecloths on the tables inside, but there is also a larger outdoor seating area where you can follow the street life on the popular and buzy Jægersborggade. At Silberbauers Bistro, you will find a selection of delicious French bistro dishes. The menu varies, follow their instagram for more information.

15. NO DEUX
Gyldenløvesgade 4, 1369 Copenhagen

The menu is French, partly determined by the season, but you can usually always find classics such as moules frites and tartare as well as a wide selection of delicious French wine. The interior of the restaurant is French country style with old wine boxes and kitchen equipment; all contributing to creating a cozy atmosphere. They are open until evening from 17.30, Tuesday to Saturday.

16. BOUILLON
Solbjergvej 3, 2000 Frederiksberg

The new Bouillon at Frederiksberg has probably not gone unnoticed. They have been fully booked since they opened and people are queuing to get in. Their concept is good, honest food at cheap prices in beautiful surroundings. We've been there, and it's white tablecloths, good service and a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is full, the tables are crowded, but the acoustics work. You get a fine French dining experience for very little money. Unless you want a table in several months, we recommend being spontaneous here. There are usually tables opening up on the day. The restaurant is open all days of the week from 11.30-23.00.

17. BRASSERIE POST
Øster Allé 1, 2100 Copenhagen

Brasserie Post is located in the old, beautiful Post building by Trianglen on Østerbro, hence the name. Here, they serve sublime French country dishes in the evening, for instance you can get red wine-braised beef jowls with mashed potatoes or fish stew on monkfish jowls, hake, hake and blue mussels. For lunch, you'll find slightly more classic dishes in the form of beef tartare with fries or a croque monsieur. They are open Tuesday to Sunday and lunch is served from 11.00-15.30 and in the evening there is service from 17.30-00.00.

18. SANS SOUCI
Madvigs Allé 15, 1829 Frederiksberg

Sans Souci is a good mix of the French and Danish cuisine. They cultivate traditions known and loved from the French bistros, but for lunch you can also experience a Danish lunch cuisine with the classic Danish smørrebrød - all dishes made with respect for local and tasty ingredients. The evening menu is dedicated to the French cuisine only. They are open Monday to Saturday for both lunch and dinner starting at 11.00.

19. MARCHAL
Hotel d'Angleterre, Kongens Nytorv 34, 1050 Copenhagen

Marchal is awarded with one Michelin-star and the restaurant reflects the culinary love that quite literally has been the heart and soul of d’Angleterre since 1755, where Jean Marchal and Maria Coppy joined forces romantically and professionally to establish a restaurant, which later grew into the hotel d’Angleterre. The tradition of fusing passion and culinary art continues at Marchal, which pays homage to the couple behind d’Angleterre.

20. FRENCHY
Store Kongensgade 69B, 1264 Copenhagen

At Frenchy you get a little bit of Paris in the heart of Copenhagen. Frenchy is a cozy local French café located between Kongens Nytorv and Marmorkirken. Here you can take a trip to France with authentic French dishes from quiche lorraine to croque monsieur, plus French music and friendly French staff. At Frenchy you can also buy French products to take home.
